Terms and Conditions

1) Visit Duration

1.1) Admission to CDM is limited to the designated period of time indicated on the receipt of booking. Arrangements for early or late arrivals, please see point 7 below.
1.2) Visitors must leave promptly at the end of the session as CDM will begin cleaning immediately.
1.3) If visitors arrive at CDM with less than 2.5 hours before the end of the session, the admission price will be for a 2.5 hour experience.
1.4) Re-entry for the same person is permitted within the designated period, which is the purchased 2.5 hour time period that begins immediately upon arrival, any time away from CDM will not be compensated. No exchange to a different person, adult or child, is permitted. No exchange to a different person, adult or child, is permitted.
1.5) If CDM has not reached maximum capacity, additional play time of 15 minute increments may be purchased. For more details, please ask CDM staff on the day of your visit.

2) Ticketing

2.1) Every visitor must purchase a ticket to gain entry.
2.2) Ticket types:
Infant ticket: under 1 years old
Child ticket: 1 - 12 years old
Adult ticket: 13 - 64 years old
Senior ticket**: 65 years old and above
People with disabilities**

** For admittance into CDM for concessionary ticket holders of infants, people with disabilities, and seniors, please show Certificate of Registration of Birth/ Registration Card for People with Disabilities issued by the Central Registry for Rehabilitation/ Senior Citizen Card.
** Failure to present proper identification will result in having to pay the difference of a full price ticket.

3) Discount Tickets and Coupons

3.1) If your ticket was purchased using a discount code (ie. Friends of CDM), please remember to bring your physical card. Failure to present the physical card or only a copy of the Card can be shown will result in having to pay the difference of a full price ticket.
3.2) Physical discount coupons must be shown and will be collected upon entry. Failure to present the physical coupon will result in having to pay the difference of a full price ticket.

4) Supervision of Children

4.1) Caregivers must be 18 years old or above.
4.2) Children 4 years old and under must be accompanied by a caregiver at all times.
4.3) A caregiver can supervise a maximum of two children whose age is both 5 years old and/or above.
4.4) One child can be accompanied by a max. of three caregivers
4.5) Visitors under the age of 17 must be accompanied by a caregiver and supervised at all times.
4.6) If the carer needs to leave CDM at any time during the designated period, the child/children that the carer is supervising must also leave CDM.
4.7) For safety and security reasons, a single adult (18 years old or above) /senior cannot come without a child. For more details, please see our FAQ page on our website.

5) Request for changes of tickets

5.1) Under no circumstances can any tickets be refunded or exchanged for any other services and/or merchandise.
5.2) Change of ticket type:
Change ticket type to a lesser value, no changes permitted.
Change ticket type to a higher value, price difference must be paid.
5.3) Decrease in ticket quantity cannot be accommodated after buying.
5.4) Unused or expired confirmed quota will be considered as forfeited.
5.5) After payment, CDM can accommodate additional guests only if maximum capacity has not been reached. To add additional guests after payment, click "FAQ" for more details.
5.6) Change of date and time slot must be made at least seven (7) days before the purchased time slot, subject to availability. Changes to session date or time can be accommodated only if space is available. There is a service fee of $15 for a one time change. Less than seven days before the purchased time slot, change of date and time slot is not permitted, under any circumstances or reasons.
5.7) Sick arrangement, please see point (10) below.
5.8) Inclement weather arrangement, please see point (11) below.

6) Procedure for Arrival and Departure

6.1) Every visitor will either receive a QR code card or bracelet from staff, which marks the start and end time of their visit.
6.2) Official end time of the visit is marked when the QR code card or bracelet is returned. If time period is more than 2.5 hours, additional charges will be applied.
6.3) If the QR code card or bracelet is lost, a $40 fee per item will be applied.

7) Early and Late Arrival (only applicable for visitors who purchased tickets online)

7.1) Early arrivals:
If the online ticketing platform indicates there are continuous and sequential sessions, and if CDM is not at maximum capacity, at most visitors may be allowed to enter the museum 30 minutes before the time indicated on their ticket. Visitors who enter before their indicated start time will begin their 2.5 hour experience upon entry into CDM. The departure time after 2.5 hours will be calculated based on their actual entry time.
7.2) Late arrivals:
Visitors who arrive no more than 10 minutes later than the start time indicated on their ticket: departure time after 2.5 hours will be calculated based on the actual entry time. Departure after CDM's closing hours will not be allowed.
Visitors who arrive more than 10 minutes later than the start time indicated on their ticket: departure time will be 10 minutes later than the one indicated for the purchased session. There will be no compensation for any time lost.


8) Additional play time
Additional play time can be purchased on the same day, subject to walk-in quota availability:
8.1) Additional play time will be charged in 15 minute increments.
8.2) Flat fee regardless of ticket type will be charged for every 15 minute.
8.3) Additional minutes will be rounded up to the nearest 15 minute if it is not a full 15 minutes.
8.4) Payment must be made immediately in person upon departure.
8.5) Same day re-entry benefit:
After the first 2.5 hours, if the same visitors wish to leave and come back, they can continue to enjoy the 15 minute increment rate.

9) Personal Information
Collected personal information may be used to contact you for emergency and ticketing-related issues only. Any personal data collected from you will be treated in accordance to the Privacy Policy and Personal Information Collection Statement. For more details click here.

10) Rebooking due to sickness

Visitors who cannot visit CDM due to illness may have a one time request to rebook. Visitors are required to send the medical certificate through email within 48 hours of the original visiting time. Late requests will not be considered.
10a) If all visitors within the purchased ticket will rebook to another time, please send the medical certificate to booking@childrensdiscoverymuseum.hk, the museum will handle the request within three business days.
10b) If only a portion of the visitors within the purchased ticket will request to rebook to another time, visitors who will visit CDM on the day of their purchased ticket must inform the museum's Visitor Services counter, and send the medical certificate to booking@childrensdiscoverymuseum.hk, the museum will handle the request within three business days.

11) Rebooking due to inclement weather

11.1) If the Hong Kong Observatory hoists the Black Rainstorm signal, or the typhoon signal No. 8 or above, three hours before the start of a session, the session will be postponed.
11.2) No cancellation or refund will be provided for the postponed session.
11.3) If CDM decides to close due to inclement weather, person responsible for the booking must register for another session within seven (7) days from the original date of the session, failure to do so will deem the booking as forfeited.

12) By paying this invoice it means you agree to abide by the "Visiting Guide", as well as the "Terms and Conditions" and "Disclaimer". It is also your responsibility to inform and ensure all the people in your group know about the "Visiting Guide" and agree to both "Terms and Conditions" and "Disclaimer".

13) The Children’s Museum Ltd. reserves the right to change the "Terms and Conditions" at any time.

14) In case of any discrepancies between the English and Chinese versions of these "Terms and Conditions", the English version shall prevail.

15) Any disputes connected in any way to the booking will be resolved by Children’s Museum Ltd. in its absolute discretion.

16) These terms are governed by the laws of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People's Republic of China.
